Lust is an emotional and mental force that makes one have an intense desire for a circumstance, object, or person. It can take any form such as the lust for money, power, or sexuality, or it can take such mundane forms as the lust for food. We all know what this is like, to have lust. And it can get the better of us sometimes. If we have this longing for someone or something, but do nothing about it, then our lust goes to waste. But if we use it as a catalyst to inspire action, well then that lust can turn into passion. So the next time you recognize that you are in a lustful place, take a moment to think about what and why you are experiencing this feeling. It is important to take a look at these things because is it tells us something about us.
If we are in a constant state of lust, then that means that something is missing. When we are coming from a place of lack, that has a vibration, a feeling about it, and it affects our mind. Sometimes after lusting after someone or something for so long, our thoughts tend to spiral or our time gets away from us. We spend so much energy on this thing that it distracts us and causes us to think that we need something. What if you realized that you had everything you ever needed, right now, in this moment?
We possess everything we need to live the life we so desire. And we do deserve that which we desire. But we need to be grateful for everything we do have first. Gratitude is the simple act of giving thankful appreciation to everything you have been given, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, people acknowledge the goodness in their lives and it helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
Take some time to say thank you to the people in your life who love and support you. Then take a look at your life and recognize all the abundance and gifts you have been given in this lifetime. We all have something to be grateful for.
