There comes a time (or many, for that matter) when we might need to ask for help. Sometimes this can be hard for those of us who feel like we can do it all, are super independent, or don't want to appear weak to others. However, asking for help when we truly need it is super important. And most people actually really would like to help you if sincerely asked. Think about it: if a friend or family member were to ask you for something, and you could actually help them, wouldn't that feel good to you, to be able to help someone you care about in a time of need? Asking for help often makes people feel uneasy because it requires surrendering control to someone else. But asking for help allows us to surround ourselves with people who can make us feel good and facilitate further development. These people create optimism and hope that we are able to deal with challenging situations, which improves our resilience. If we are able to ask for help and obtain feedback, we can overcome setbacks and grow. Growth is fundamental to our development. Without growth we become stagnant in our lives. We are meant to learn and live!
